Welcome
Having an Eating Disorder is much more than just being on a diet and is by no means a 'female problem'. An Eating Disorder is an illness that affects all areas of a sufferer's life, whether male or female, is caused by a variety of emotional factors and influences, and has profound effects on the people suffering and their loved ones.
This
website has been created with the aim of raising awareness and providing
useful information about eating disorders emphasising always that they
are not about food and weight - they are simply the symptoms of
something deeper going on inside the mind of sufferers, and all stemming
from a low self-esteem.
We are not doctors but we are determined to remind each and every sufferer
of anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating and binge eating disorders
that they are not alone, and that complete recovery is possible. If you

Eating Disorders
There are a wide number of Eating Disorders and this website deals in detail with some of the more common illnesses and also touches on others that are less common but still as destructive and in need of mentioning.
Could you have an Eating Disorder?
Bathroom scales play a huge part in the life of any person dealing with an Eating Disorder. If you find yourself stepping onto the scales every few hours, or even more than once a day, obsessing about every gram you have put on or lost, then you may have an Eating Disorder and this site could provide you with helpful information.
The
mirror, and more importantly, looking at your body in the mirror more
than a few times a day, checking your tummy or legs and disliking what
you see, again, could be an indication that you are suffering from low
self-esteem and a possible eating disorder. This site can provide useful
information and helpful adivce on dealing with your negative thoughts
and feelings.
If
you find yourself constantly picking up food in supermarkets and checking
the calorie and fat content wondering if it's too much and worrying about
how much fat you might gain from eating the food, it could, once again,
mean that there are underlying issues that need resolving and useful information
in this website could help explain some of this behaviour and help you.
